if anyone was to take a look at espn soccernet right now, you would just see a plain old hot mess.

the transfer window officially closes at 3pm pacific time, and the biggest athlete in question is clint dempsey. a forward striker for fulham who is CLEARLY unhappy at fulham, even refusing to train with the club which resulted in a fine. both liverpool fc and tottenham hotspurs AND aston villa have been bidding like cray last second ebay status just to snag this guy. although old, he could prove to be a missing link for any of these clubs.

obvi theres a TON of others but these are ones that just came to mind
no one really knows where clint dempsey will end up but he fasho wants to gtfo of fulham!!

the final leg of the spanish super cup begins at 1:30 pm!! with both rm and fcb having new siginings for midfielders (modric and song) this could be an impressive match. also it could be a test of which club made the better deal during the transfer window. although the season of la liga has just barely started, both clubs have shown a pretty "dgaf" mentality in opening matches. sloppy passes, no true effort to drive in the box with poor defending.

so in all fairness, both clubs are at rather crappy stages but still, very hungry. the aggregate score currently stands at 3-2 so it will really just be a spectacle of which side craves the trophy more!

can be summed up in two words. hot MESS.

my biggest issue with soccer players moving from one club to another is the huge fact that they all move for money. right now there are a few huge clubs in every league better known as "moneybags fc" and all they do is snatch up players, promising huge titles when really they're just buying a trophy. granted all players work hard but if you pull a "miami heat" kind of deal, pooling all that talent into one team isn't necessarily fair. sports is a business, yes, but the english prem league def takes it to another level. a few clubs just have an endless amount of money coming through and thus purchasing their way to the top.

the ideas of dedication and commitment in sports are long gone, basically if you have the money, you can literally buy your way to the top. there is no low point or struggle that a team has to go through because you can now purchase a champion-like squad.

track and gymnastics. both of them are absolutely CRAY. it was so cool to watch the team usa girls win gold because they really deserved it. MENS THO, SMH. japan beasting it and we messing up left and right.... sigh. track is going to be so exciting i cannot wait!
sidenote: sick and tired of hearing michael phelps being the bestest olympian and nbc low key taking a dump on other countries when they win. for example, Chad Le Clos has beaten michael phelps on two occasions, which is impressive considering the fact that he's the underdog. NBC instead switched over to some interview between ryan seacrest (OF ALL PEOPLE) with mr. phelps. the station has become really biased towards team usa which I understand is a given since it is a ~national channel~ but wth, i want to see pakistan win a field hockey game!!!! SMH
